Job Description:
SJOG - Lindisfarne Court in Darlington
SUPPORT WORKERS - 30 hours per week
NIGHT SUPPPORT WORKER – 28.5 hours per week
Salary - £8.37 per hour
SJOG is a national charity with 600 staff working in 33 local communities around the country, providing care and support for people with learning and physical disabilities, people with mental health issues, homeless people and older people. We’re part of an international organisation that touches the lives of a million people every day.
The charity is seeking to recruit a Support Workers and Night Support Workers to assist in providing 24 hour care and support to adults with learning and physical disabilities, which will enhance the quality of life of the people using the service. The role of the Support Worker is to enable each person using the service to lead a fulfilling and independent life according to individual needs and choices.
Essential Criteria:
* An ability to demonstrate the core values of the Charity
* NVQ2 in care (or willingness to attain)
* Ability to respond to guidance and direction
* Experience of working with vulnerable adults
* Experience of developing personal care plans
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
* Able to provide personal care
* Able to work flexible hours and sleepins
* Participate where necessary in social activities, outings/holidays with people using the service
* Maintain confidentiality, honesty and reliability
* Nondiscriminatory and respect for cultural and religious heritage of all people
