The Role
The role will work on a biweekly shift rotation and will be responsible for approximately 70 employees. Responsibilities will include directing and coordinating the Operations on shift at the facility. You will also be responsible for improving performance, productivity, and efficiency through the implementation of effective methods and strategies.
Working Hours: 39 - rotating shifts; 6am - 2.30pm (Friday 6am - 1.30pm finish) and 2.30pm - 11pm (Friday 1.30pm - 9pm finish)
About the Role
How you will contribute
Manage the daily activities of the logistics linefeed operation to maximise scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
Interface with customer to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximisation of schedule adherence
Enact contingency plans as needed and escalate and direct activities during operational problems etc.
Identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to local and senior management, and participate in analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
Review ongoing performance results to targets.
Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Supervisors and/or team, enforcing Company standards and act as a role model. Proactively engage with the workforce to adopt a continuous improvement approach.
Conform to the processes and requirements of our integrated management system.
Achieve effectiveness of our integrated management system by following the Quality Policy and meeting company objectives.
Work to be compliant with the company environmental, health and safety standards and rules
The Person
Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties, preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret complex documents and respond effectively to sensitive enquiries or complaints.
Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to top management and customer.
Proficient use of Software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Accesses. Data analyses, SAP or other electronic logistical inventory management systems is a requirement.
Ability to communicate in a professional and precise manner is a requirement (i.e. report writing, oral and electronic presentation skills).
Previous experience in using Lean tools to develop process improvements.
Working within a management systems environment (ISO 9001, ISO TS16949, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 45001) is highly desirable
