1. OVERVIEW OF ROLE

We are an established digital media agency/software house that develops sophisticated customised web and database solutions using Microsoft tools and techniques. Our systems are used globally for prestigious multilingual global clients and have received international acclaim for being the best of breed in terms of functionality, look and feel and quality.

We are looking for a SQL Developer to join the team in maintaining the existing systems/applications/interfaces, technologies and tools, helping with new rollouts and building new functionality. As a key member of the team you will perform an extensive range and variety of complex technical tasks and advise on the selection of standards, tools and applications. You will also bring best practice to aura and be accountable for the design and delivery of significant projects.

You should be motivated, have good hands on support experience in the full life cycle of the in house developed systems including maintenance and testing using Microsoft .Net tools and SQL Server databases. We are also looking for someone that has pride in the quality of their work and good attention to detail whilst still remaining focused on time and cost deadlines. You will have an aptitude for working within a very busy, dynamic working environment and the ability to negotiate and influence senior stakeholders.

Experience with marketing, customer satisfaction, online questionnaires, email campaigns, CRM or other web-based systems would be advantageous but not essential.

2. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* At least 3 years of writing complex SQL and T-SQL code

* Comprehensive MS SQL database design skills including normalisation and constraints

* Knowledge of the Microsoft stack - SSIS, SSRS, SSAS

* Hands-on experience with T-SQL (Transact SQL) stored procedures, triggers and database constraints (MS SQL Server 2008 R2, 2014, 2016)

* Able to write complex queries

* Significant database design and optimisation experience

* Experience using Visual Studio

* Design, development and support experience

* Commercial experience developing with in the SQL Stack

* Experience with bug tracking management systems and source control systems (TFS or SVN)

* Excellent communication skills able to interact confidently at all levels

* Strong problem solving and analysis skills

* Self-starter able to work individually or as part of a team

3. DESIRABLE SKILLS

Experience with cloud, virtualisation, and VMs

Experience of working in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment automation environment

Network support
