As Night Senior Care Worker at The Chocolate Quarter you'll assist residents with all aspects of personal care, to meet their individual needs. You will ensure that care is planned in partnership with residents' and their families, including social and spiritual needs, with the emphasis on maintaining key life skills. Demonstrating compassion, patience and care at all times you'll work with residents' to ensure that meaningful activities are provided throughout the day. One of your top priorities will be the day to day direction of the care team including the delegation of duties. You'll also liaise with registered nurses and mentor care workers, promoting best practice in all care aspects. You'll understand the impact dementia can have on a person's needs and ensure that all residents feel safe and supported. You will create a positive atmosphere all around the home ensuring it is welcome and homely.

Our care home is designed over 3 floors of our new development in Block B of the Chocolate Quarter. Each floor has a different specialism which includes:

Dementia care

General Nursing Older peoples care

Health/Enablement care

Friendly and approachable you'll build positive working relationships with residents, team members and external visitors. You'll be committed to the well-being of all our residents and provide emotional support when appropriate. Additional duties will include supporting the administration of medication and clinical activity, providing a key worker role for named residents and maintaining electronic and paper records. You'll also support residents to live well by finding creative ways to enable residents' to live full lives in the home and in the community.

What we're looking for

For this role an ability to attend to personal care needs and to be medication administration trained is essential. You should be confident using computerised systems and have clear written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with older or people living with disability or dementia is desirable. A minimum of NVQ 2 and working towards level 3 in Health and Social Care is required.
