Where is your company going?

Ideally, it’ll be somewhere exciting. Every business can claim to be exciting, so much so that the word often loses impact. But when you’re launching a new site every couple of days – that’s exciting.

People buy in to people. Trust, great relationships and knowledge are all power. In sales you need all three. It will all come naturally when you’ve built genuine partnerships and you really back what you’re selling.

Knowing just how many people have already bought into this takes the edge off, doesn’t it?

You’re obviously going to have all the desired traits from a Salesperson, though. Not pushy, under the table type sales that people imagine up in their head, but someone people trust and know they mean what they say.

Day to day, you’ll be on top of exactly where all the products are sourced, and you’ll be providing foodservice companies with all the equipment, ingredients and promotional material they need to make money. You’re going to know it all. I bet 12-year-old you would have hated being a know-it-all, but it pays off now.

From analysing your accounts purchasing activity to identifying the brands that need more attention over the coming month and targeting your promotions accordingly you’ll do it all. Taking pride in your work, your product and your relationships.

You will by no means need to be Gordon Ramsey but sitting somewhere between Gregg Wallace and John Torode will be useful. You will be demonstrating and training people in how to make your products in the kitchen, but don’t worry though, you’ll get training from an incredible chef when you begin if it’s not your strongest point.

You’ll need to enjoy your own company (and love your own singing voice) since this is a field-based role. Between the North of England and Scotland you’ll have the whole region to yourself, so you can really make it your own.

Let’s have a chat. You can send me a connection and a message on LinkedIn (Dan Beecher), or you can send me your CV through the portal if you’ve got one (I know not everyone does). If you’re a talker, my number is on our website.
