Venatu Recruitment Group are seeking a facilities engineer to support to the facilities management and day to day operations in order to maintain a clean, secure and safe working environment for all staff and visitors. This is an active role and you will perform both routine and varied facilities duties.

Reporting to the facilities manager, you will maintain the building and core plant including both site security and safety. You will undertake work programmes, report on progress and ensure the completion of tasks and projects.

You will be managing the contractors and supplies on site including reviewing their method statements and risk assessments. You will also conduct your own risk assessments and maintain the COSHH material safety data sheet.

You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance of health and safety procedures along with managing cleaning and sundry supplies as well as ensuring the correct stock control.

The role will require the successful candidate to undertake planned preventative maintenance checks such as meter readings, water temperature checks, assist with AHU filter changes and undertake all services of electricity, gas, heating, air and water to ensure they are correctly controlled to meet legislative requirements.

You will be supporting he facilities manager and act as his deputy as and when required.

We are seeking an individual who has a level 2 in facilities services and/or a level 3 in facilities management.

The successful candidate will have basic facilities or estate management knowledge. Ideally you will have an understanding of basic technical aspects of property, air conditioning, chiller systems, fire protection systems, mechanical and electrical systems along with BMS systems, however this is not a necessity.

Experience of commercial of building maintenance, contract support/supervision and working in a facilities team is essential for this role.

The chosen candidate will be able to work independently and with others. You will have good communication skills and be IT literate with a good understanding of the standard Microsoft applications. The capability to be able to work under pressure and support others during busy periods is a must along with being able to assist with manual handling tasks such as receiving deliveries and assisting with events.
