I am currently in the market looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to work with a renowned global leader in steel production and engineering.

The Continuous Improvement Manager will be working with different individuals and teams to embed Operational Excellence within the DNA of the company through deployment and application of lean tools and techniques. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be capable of operating tactically in addition to supporting the focus and drive towards Operational Excellence as part of the business transformation programme. This role will be pivotal within the company and the successful candidate will have to possess the tenacity, focus and enthusiasm to rigorously apply and uphold the operational excellence framework across all areas of the business.

The role & responsibilities of the Continuous Improvement Manager

Mentoring and developing peers will be a key objective of this role so strong people management and leadership skills are mandatory as is the ability to ensure requirements are adhered to.
Manage local and departmental Continuous Sustainable Improvement Plans
Management and prioritisation of identified improvement opportunities
Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Efficiencies
Serve as a facilitator of Continuous Improvement interventions, in addition you will be mentoring less experience members of the Continuous Improvement team in workshop facilitation
Support cultural change across the business and drive Continuous Improvement
The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead, define and develop continuous improvement activities designed to improve performance, planning and facilitation of lean events.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure performance is optimised

The successful Continuous Improvement Manager MUST:
Have excellent leadership skills
Have the ability to manage varying personalities within cross-functional teams
Have excellent organisational and project management skills
Excellent presentation skills with experience in delivering both training and presentations alike to multiple personnel.
Competency in delivering core lean module training material
Understand business financials and how improvement activity impacts these.
· Heavy industry experience is preferred
· Manufacturing / Engineering Degree preferred -HND or NVQ
· Six Sigma Green Belt Certification essential (Black Belt preferred)
· Competent workshop facilitator
· Project Management skills
