Richard Huish College is more than a Sixth Form College. The CPeO post has operational and strategic responsibility for the Human Resource function across the Huish group. We are looking for someone who is able to take ownership, demonstrate drive, be resilient and have a desire to work with the Senior Management Team to help us reach our vision.
About This Role:
We are looking for a Chief People Officer to take ownership of the overall management and development for all aspects of HR and Talent Management.
You will work in partnership with the Principal/Chief Executive and the other members of SMT to help shape the strategic direction of the College to ensure that it delivers its Vision and Values, and meets the challenging targets for staff well-being, performance, student success and financial performance. You will report directly to the Principal/Chief Executive.
This role will be primarily based at our Richard Huish College site in Taunton, but will be required to travel to sites within the Trust as required.
Responsibilities to cover, but not limited to:
* HR Strategic Planning
* Employee Relations
* Recruitment and Selection
* Learning and Development
* Talent Management
* Compensation and Benefits
Essential Skills:
* Experience in leading and developing the delivery of HR functions to a high standard
* CIPD qualified or equivalent occupational experience
* Up to date working knowledge of UK employment law
* The ability to originate and lead organisational strategies in HR
* Experience in developing HR policies and procedures to ensure both effective employee relations and legal compliance
* Experience of introducing new ideas to improve employee engagement, wellbeing and retention
* A full driving licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel
Desirable Skills:
* FE/Education sector background and experience would be beneficial, but not essential
* Budget responsibility and management
* Experience of working with Unions
* Experience of mediation and dispute resolution
* Management of end to end TUPE process
