To deliver a high quality of care to a diverse range of people with care and support needs, adopting a personcentred
approach with a focus on promoting independence and wellbeing.
You will predominantly be attached to one establishment/team but will be expected to work flexibly across a
range of establishments/teams, as required.

 Undertaking a flexible role across a range of in-house services, applying transferable skills and
knowledge, and the principles of equality and diversity to a range of individuals.
 Working shift patterns, including evenings/overnights and weekends, as appropriate and required.
 Liaising with a range of other professionals, engaging with multi-agency work, to provide a high standard
of care, promoting independence and wellbeing.
 Delivering a high quality of personal care and supporting the emotional and physical needs of service
 Administering medication according to policy and procedure, applying best practice at all times and
working to the best interest of the individual.
 Encouraging service users to exercise their own choices and formulate their own decisions where
 Raising concerns in the event of safeguarding/disciplinary and grievance procedures.
2. You will support the work of the Registered Manager, by:
 Ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
 Record daily monetary transactions.
 Using appropriate documentation, to record, monitor and review assessments, risk assessments, risk
management plans and individual care plans to ensure high quality data recording.
 Working within a lawful manner, respecting privacy and not making decisions on behalf of others, unless
part of a Mental Capacity Assessment and Best Interest decision.
 Where appropriate, encouraging team members to whistleblow and file complaints as per policy and
South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults.
