BDM - Fitted and Loose Furniture

Is the role right for you?

This role needs the right type of person - someone who can stand up and be counted!
You will be crucial to the success of this small business that is looking to grow; and as such the role will potentially grow into that of a Sales Director position within the business down the line.

They have excellent support and management knowledge base within the sector, with many years of experience to call upon. So, training on products and sector can be provided, though it would be ideal to get someone with some furniture experience, whether loose or fitted; as you will be selling furniture and fit out solutions.

Though you will work with the MD and take over some of the projects and contacts he has, you must be a new business hunter - someone who has already proven that you can go out there and win specifications for projects with Architects, specifiers, small contractors, etc - for projects in the Education, Health, Veterinary and associated sectors (as that's where the Companies strengths lie) - e.g. Labs, Food rooms, School rooms.

The role will be dealing with smaller contractors - they are NOT interested in dealing with the large contractors such as Interserve, Wilmot Dixon, etc.

Where does it cover?

There are no defined limits on where you can go for projects and therefore where you can live. It is very much down to the person.

However, that being said the Company have track record in the Midlands, Yorkshire, South East - London and Home Counties, East Anglia - so the preference would be to find someone in these areas ideally.

Does it offer enough?

Ideally, they are looking to pay £30-35,000 as a basic salary. However, they are willing to discuss this for the right candidate - as the most important thing is to get the right person for the post.
Commission will be 1% of sales; plus there will most likely be a profit related annual bonus.

They are providing a Car Allowance, in the most tax efficient way possible (there is no Company car option), a mobile phone, a laptop, a pension and expenses as appropriate.
