Automation Engineer

Frome

Circa £40,000 + Holiday + Bank Holiday + Pension Contribution +Life Assurance

DAYS. Monday to Friday

Automation Engineer required for a successful, market leading manufacturer who are continuing to invest in their sites and are well renowned for investing in their employees. They are currently experiencing a period of rapid growth.

To apply for this role, you will be an expert within Automation/Software and ideally have experience within a manufacturing environment. This role would suit someone from a hands on maintenance background who has a keen eye for automation and is looking to move in to a slightly more 'hands off' role OR applicants who have been working in an office based automation role and would like more involvement with the day to day maintenance/automation issues on site.
Applicants must have experience of working with a variety of PLC's on site and be comfortable interrogating, editing and modifying programmes where necessary.

The role will ultimately involve being the 'go to' person on site for any software/automation issues. You will be tasked with providing the engineers with the extra layer of expertise when they are encountering issues with production machinery. You will also be responsible for ensuring that staff are fully trained and conversant in all current and future software/automation updates. Additionally, you will be required to set up and manage control of site software and automation for your particular area, this includes calibration of instrumentation and all Process PLC's and shared responsibility for Packing PLC's.

The Role:
*You will be the "go to" person for everything automation/software based on site
*Confidently supporting the engineers with breakdown/maintenance queries
*Supporting the maintenance manager with day to day running of department
*Training staff on relevant updates to software/automation on site.
*DAYS BASED ROLE. Monday to Friday.

The Person:
*Applicants must have experience of working with a variety of PLC's
*Must be confident with PLC interrogation and editing/modifying programmes
*Will ideally have experience within a manufacturing environment
