You will ensure scheduled maintenance activities are organised, communicated to trade team leads for implementation and that the execution is monitored, reporting potential issues to maintenance management in a timely fashion for resolution. You will also prioritise maintenance tasking to meet airfield, aircraft and component bay operational requirements, satisfying emergent maintenance arising’s whilst sustaining the maintenance programme schedule.
Ensures the departments maintenance schedule is efficiently managed to minimise the number of scheduled maintenance arising’s through the amalgamation of multi interval servicing’s.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  
You will be responsible for sustaining a maintenance schedule detailing all tasks due scheduled servicing, equipment location and priority for maintainer’s implementation. They will create maintenance work orders from support equipment databases. Provide trade leads with short and long term forecasts of maintenance activities and monitor maintenance schedules, reporting performance against planned tasking to the department lead. You will also maintain a paperwork archive in line with the quality management system; coordinate the removal of surplus equipment through the relevant disposal process and liaise with third party maintenance organisations planning suitable maintenance scheduling and production of relevant maintenance work packages.  
  
Further tasks will include but not limited to:

Sign 2nd & 3rd signature for supervision and co-ordination of work within trade boundary, regardless of 1st signatory's rank
Hold and maintain Comp C status for the processing of sub-assemblies and component parts as well as conditioning technical equipment as SCRAP inside trade boundary.
Allocate component maintenance tasking based on availability of resource and competency of maintenance staff.
Maintaining a PEVL to establish continuity of experience. Ensure that all tradesmen return the individual PEVLs for validation of entries on a regular basis.
Ensure all training and development requirements are requested in line with regulatory requirements and staff appraisals.
Assist with host and facilitating both internal and external audits activities providing requested information, documentation and evidence of compliance on request
Assist the department team leader with the management of leave, updating of leave management database and completion of department timesheets
Assist with the management of Staff Performance & Development and Staff Recruitment
Maintaining engineering standards as detailed in JAP 100E-10 Military Aviation Ground Support Equipment Management & Policy and associated technical data required for all ASE related tasks.
Maintain Environmental, Quality, Security and Health & Safety standards as defined by company Policy
Conduct self in line with companies set of principles.
All staff are to ensure that they maintain the standard of security policies and procedures as stipulated within Station and Security Standing Orders.
All staff are responsible for ensuring that all Information Technology and Information Management processes, policies, procedures and controls are adhered to for all IT systems within their use.
Champion a culture of Near Miss and Error Reporting and take the lead for subsequent investigations, attend MEMS meetings and completing any relevant actions.   
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  
Essential: 

Training in an Engineering related discipline to City & Guilds 2675 Level 3/NVQ BTEC Level 3 or equivalent
Completion of leadership and management training such as TMT, NVQ/BTEC – Leadership and Management
GCSE Maths & English
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems. Advanced Excel.
Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing Resource Planning)
Security clearance to BPSS/CTC level   
Desirable:

Completion of Line Management Development Program.
Quality and Air Safety Management Systems Training
Completion of SMS A/B training
