Our client is a successful international, innovative manufacturer and industry leader, who work with blue chip retail clients around the world. Due to continued expansion, they are now recruiting for a Trainee Sales Manager to join their office in Stevenage.

You will be required to work closely with the Sales Managers and Account Directors to support them in managing their key accounts. You will also be responsible for identifying and winning new business, as well as managing and developing customer accounts.

Key responsibilities:

* Sales of bespoke product solutions: sales support and expansion of product ranges in existing retailer accounts

* Acquisition and development of new customers

* Assisting the Key Account Directors and Sales Managers in all aspects of account management, including client meetings

* Supporting the Key Account Directors and Sales Managers in the development and delivery of new concepts to existing and potential customers through effective communication and relationship building

* Customer and competitor market analysis

* Close liaison with the UK team and head office in Germany

What the employer is looking for:

* At least 1-2 years’ proven experience in a sales-focused position

* Degree education preferred, or at least strong A Levels

* Technically minded

* Ambitious and highly motivated, with a desire to succeed

* Comfortable in a client facing role

* Ability to build relationships at all levels, from production line to boardroom

* Able to work under pressure

* IT literate and confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

* Team player and flexible approach

* Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally, with excellent grasp of grammar

* Excellent attention to detail

* Ability to self-motivate, manage own time and multi-task

* Driving license and own vehicle – essential due to location

What’s in it for you?:

* £30k-£38k, depending on experience

* 27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)

* 13th month of salary bonus

* Pension: Employee 4% / Employer 3 %

* Hours: 40 hours per week with flexible start/finish times, between the hours of 7:30am – 8pm (Mon-Fri)
