Job Description: My client is an industry-leading manufacturer of innovative and complex products for a number of global end-user industry groups. Working for their food & drink division and reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing, my client seeks a home-based Technical Sales Manager to drive growth in the sector.

With the full support of both the Head of Sales & Marketing and the divisional Technical Manager the successful candidate will be tasked with delivering new business and opportunities through effective targeted sales.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

* Representing and promoting the company at trade and industry exhibitions

* Technical sales and support inc. first-line technical support, up and cross-selling of products and services

* New business development

* Sales strategy

* Account/customer management inc. 360 feedback and incorporation of information/data into NPD

* Working effectively with manufacturing and R&D functions to ensure products always remain at the forefront of industry trends

To be considered for the role, it is essential that you possess technical sales expertise, ideally gained from an earlier technical/engineering background gained in an engineering based environment. You will be comfortable in an autonomous role, a confident self-starter with a high level of technical and commercial acumen.

Key selection criteria includes:

* Demonstrable experience gained selling into the food & drink manufacturing, storage and supply chain industry groups/channels

* Ideally a time-served engineer or degree qualified engineer, candidates with specific chemistry/chemical/HVAC expertise would be most welcome

* Ideally possessing knowledge of the secondary refrigeration market

* Confident and assured both from a technical and sales standpoint

* Excellent communication skills

* Happy to work with a high-degree of autonomy

* Happy to undertake considerable UK based travel

This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative and well-regard organisation for a confident and resourceful technical sales professional. The role is home-based with extensive travel throughout the UK and will be required to be in their Northern HQ once a month. The initial period would require the candidate to be in the factory for a two-week training period which will be augmented by additional role/product specific training
