We are looking for a Technical Safety Hygiene Officer to join our client on a Full time permanent basis.
A large part of the role is to be a key member of the technical team championing the quality of raw materials, packaging and products. To support the team by completing supplier complaints and KPI, maintain supplier assurance programme by keeping all raw material, packaging and food contact documentation up to date.
To be the Health & Safety champion for the whole site by striving to achieve the highest safety standards by conducting weekly audits, maintaining all relevant safety records, ensuring compliance to statutory requirements and coordinate external safety checks.
To oversee the Hygiene of the bakery in ensuring all areas of the site are clean, tidy and hygienic. Co-ordinate with the hygiene operative across the shifts to ensure the cleanliness of the factory remains at a high standard and all corresponding schedules are maintained.
Key tasks
Technical/Quality
Ensuring that all completed technical records that are collected, are at the correct frequency and are analysed to ensure they have been completed correctly and link to the other relevant documentation. To report any discrepancies via the correct channels.
Specification, artwork and label administration
Become competent in the company's technical processes and practices especially Quality Control/Assurance
Deal with technical documentation in the office
Complete factory inspections and internal audits if required
Supplier assurance documentation compliance
Champion the sensory protocol and weekly tasting, report any product deviations and non-conformances
Produce accurate reports/documents as requested for meetings, committees and external Agencies. e.g. BRC
Attend and participle in HACCP, Hygiene and Quality staff meetings when called
Production paperwork processing cover when required
QC sample coordination and coordination of lab testing of raw materials and finished product
Key Tasks:-
Hygiene
Ensure the weekly cleaning schedule is adhered to and site hygiene is of a constant high standard
Supervise the hygiene team ensuring they are fully trained and have all the correct equipment and chemicals. Ensure stock of protective clothing, chemicals,
Train staff as required in chemical COSHH and cleaning procedures
Conduct swabbing and analyse results
Working as part of the technical team, you will support the business ensuring technical compliance is maintained to a high standard.
Health & Safety
Site champion for Health & Safety monitoring performance with weekly H&S audit reports
Conducting regular machine safety training
Fire Marshall responsible for alarm testing, fire safety and audits
H&S training for staff and ensuring refresher training is completed on time
Responsible for the upkeep of the service contract and file
Write and implement site safe working practices
Conduct risk assessments where necessary and keep them up to date
