Job Description: Job Summary:

We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Manager to join our team in Skelmersdale

£50,000 per annum

Working Monday to Friday 9:00am- 17:30pm

About Salads to Go:

Salads to go is one of Four UK based factories who are part of the wider European Agrial & Florette salad group. It is a well-established manufacturing facility based in Skelmersdale supplying pre packed bags and bowls of salad into the major retailers under their own label.

Main Responsibilities:

• Compile and issue customer technical reports

• Create, build and maintain effective relationships with retailer technical managers

• Implementation of BUUK Technical Plans

• BRC Representative

• HACCP Team Leader

• Member Group TACCP Team

• Responsible for food safety from goods in to customer depot

• Manage food safety in accordance with HACCP principles

• Manage the QMS to maintain BRC accreditation at grade AA+

• Liaise with enforcement bodies as required

• Responsible for the on-site compliance of the hygiene team

• Responsible for release of non- conformity product

• Implement all legislative updates incorporating them into the existing quality management system

• Ensure that all new products comply with the existing QMS, developing new procedures and processes where required

• Ensure that the QMS is maintained and improved upon

• Carry out trend analysis on non-conformities
• Set the budget for the technical department

Skills and Experience required:

* HACCP intermediate or advanced

* Degree in Food Technology Subject or Advanced Food Hygiene

* Train the Trainer (desirable)

* Internal Auditing Qualification

* Three years’ experience in a people management role with at least three direct reports

* Experience of operating an ERP system such as SAP

* Experience of conducting performance appraisals

* Three years spent in FMCG high care/risk chilled or frozen food environment making customer branded product for the major multiples
