Job Description: Position: Senior/ Principal Consultant
Based: UK Wide
RPS Group is looking for a Principal Consultant to join our RPS Energy business. The role is to provide Environmental and permitting support to oil and gas operators both nationally and internationally. There will also be opportunities to support our renewables clients too. We will consider candidates UK wide with some travel to Aberdeen expected.
You will have a strategic role within RPS Energy providing first class UKCS permitting service to clients. You will have the opportunity to build a team as well as to manage and coach less experienced members of staff. You will also be involved in business development, actively maintaining and deepening relationships with existing clients and seeking to develop new clients to support penetration into core markets.
We will need you to have an aptitude for working across more than one business area, or a willingness to achieve this through personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and undertake the production of a range of environmental management and permitting documents including: Environmental Management Systems, UK MATs and SATs, Environmental Impact - Assessments, Oil Pollution Emergency Plans, etc.
* Act as project manager and/or as part of a team
* Undertake the technical and commercial aspects of project management
* Mentoring and/or line management
* Client liaison and management
* Assist in business development
Knowledge/Skills Required:
* Degree qualified in an industry relevant subject (environment science, marine biology, ecology. etc.)
* Second degree at MSc or PhD level is desirable
* In-depth knowledge of UKCS offshore consenting permitting process (Environmental Statement, UK MATs and SATs, BEIS portal) is essential
* Knowledge of HSE/ Environmental Management Systems, Decommissioning and Oil Pollution Emergency Plans is desirable
* Proven project management skills in a commercial environment
* Experience of working on client facing projects
* Strong time management and interpersonal skills
* Effective communication skills
