Job Description: CAD Technician - Product Development

Daventry

Permanent

Monday to Friday 8.30 - 5pm

Salary £25,000 to £30,000 per annum

Our client a well established business in Daventry are now looking to recruit a Product development CAD technician.

We are looking for an individual able to work on their own initiative,with good time management skills and great attention to detail. This is primarily a CAD based role so CAD skills and ability are paramount, however this must also include 3D ability and experience.

Design and Development Responsibilities

Revision/updates to CAD drawings,products and applications.

Sketch draft ideas on paper or digitally (For example using CAD).

Set design requirements based on briefs from internal and external teams.

Work on agreed design programs/products using 3D modelling software to design products and components.

Administration of new and revised product design projects from concept to production stage liaising with various internal departments/personnel and external sources regarding,manufacturing,marketing,production and external toolmakers.

Produce prototypes and test functionally.

Design and revised tooling for production line.

Managing Design and Development sector documentation to comply with ISO and BSI standards.

Creating 3D photo realistic/CGI renderings pf products for marketing purposes.

Managing /developing CAD drawings,2D and 3D.

Assist with technical enquiries from the sales team,customers,architects and designers.

Essential skills

Good IT skills including 2D and 3D CAD -software packages used currently are AutoCAD 2020,Autodesk Inventor2020,Fusion 360 or 3ds Max.

Technical/Engineering bias with some creative skills

Ideally qualified to ordinary or higher certificate/BTECH level.

Ability to cope with the pressures of deadlines.

Desirable qualities

Knowledge of 3D modelling software and creation of photo realistic renderings /CGI images

Experience with design programs (e.g Illustrator,Photoshop)

Experience within the building /constructing sector

Experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally injection moulding.
