Due to another successful year my client who are a family owned brokerage based in Gloucester are seeking a motivated insurance professional to join their Commercial Lines Team as an Account Handler.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist in providing Comprehensive insurance service to both existing and new business customers
work alongside the Commercial Director and Account Executives to provide high quality insurance broking service
Account Handling a variety of businesses including manufactures, wholesalers, professional services and Construction
Make accurate amendments to customers policies
Process customers through a claim
Assist customers with any enquiries
Maintain regular contact with existing customers and ensure insurance requirements are met.

Knowledge, skills and experience required include:

Educated to GCSEs or equivalent, supported with a minimum of 5 grades C or above including English and Mathematics.
Hold the Cert CII qualification and be prepared to undertake the DipCII.
IT skills - including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook and ideally experience of using the Acturis system
Knowledge of the principles, practices and legalities of General insurance.
Commercial insurance broking experience.
Good customer relations, communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organisational and planning skills

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to progress within the company to an Account Executive, work within a modern open planned office, have access to plenty of onsite parking. Flexible working hours can be provided, eligibility to join the company pension scheme and other benefits once successfully completing probation period. This role is 35hours Monday-Friday, starting salary £22,000 to £26,000 dependant on experience.
