Job Description: A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Food Production Manager in the idyllic Scottish Borders. Working for a global leader in seafood manufacturing, our client has an attractive package including a sizable relocation lump sum and bonuses on top of a competitive base salary.

Overview of the role

As the Production Manager, you will work closely with the Site and Senior Production Manager. Your primary function within the organisation is to take ownership of their highest value production process from raw material arrival through to the various production and packaging stages.

Additionally, the Production Manager will ensure Production targets are met and will have an active presence on the production floor, dealing with Team Leads and production staff on a daily basis, identifying Lean opportunities, identify training and development prospects and solve production issues efficiently. You will also be tasked with further developing and managing product and information flow within the value stream in accordance with Lean methodology to achieve value-added.

Key Focus

Developing the skills and knowledge of the team
Managing the daily execution of value stream processes and workstreams to ensure completion of milestones on task and within specification
Simplifying processes using lean methodology, eliminating waste, identifying opportunities for added value
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Having an active presence on the production floorAccountabilities

Implementing lean tools and procedures within the value stream to minimise process variation and to maximise added value.
Conduct evaluation pertinent to quality process enhancement to achieve value-added.
Identify improvement opportunities and perform under minimal supervision to attain results as well as process enhancements.
Define and deliver continuous improvement plans for the value stream from future state maps.
Motivate your team to engage in lean activity planning as well as the execution of these plans.
Accountable for all operational aspects across the value stream defined from raw material through to finished products in compliance with the Company Production Plan (People, Safety, Quality, Stock, Cost, and Delivery).
Accountable for reporting and delivering all KPI's which enable our client to continuously improve, ensuring the line managers maintain all key KPI data and visual management boards. Prioritise and task manage value stream team to perform against KPI's and budget.
Accountable for communication between the value stream and stakeholders in the production process.
Through the Line Managers ensure all employees are fully conversant and compliant with the Company's Health and Safety policies. Ensure all relevant Health and Safety legislation is effectively implemented and managed.
