Job Description: SF Recruitment's Commercial division are excited to be working with a UK Leading manufacturing business based in North Leicester, as they recruit a Category Buyer to join them on a permanent basis.

Paying between £26,000 -£30,000 depending upon experience, the role will be to work closely within the Purchasing team to enable placement of Purchase orders with approved suppliers and ensure timely delivery which is in line with customer requirements.

As the Category Buyer, you will be assisting in the implementation of procurement strategies to improve EBIT through reducing spend and operating working capital (OWC) whilst maintaining continuity of supply. The focus of this role will be in Tool Procurement but flexibility within other Category Buyer roles will be an expectation to enable Purchasing resource flexibility.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring that Purchase orders are placed in a timely manner and that delivery schedules are strictly adhered to.
- Reporting and updating supplier order progression
- Ensuring that Purchase orders are accurate to avoid invoice queries
- Working alongside the Accounts team and Stakeholders to deal with any invoice queries
- Utilising purchasing capacity / load data and established lead times to validate supplier efficiency and performance
- Creating close working relationships with Internal Stakeholders
- Establishing and support supplier relationships
- Managing supplier's performance in relation to quality, cost and delivery.
- Identifying & mitigate contractual risk within Supplier agreements
- Identifying purchasing contracts and synergies with other PCC companies as appropriate
- Constantly seeking competitive new sources of supply to obtain lower costs
- Participating, identifying, developing and implementing continuous improvement activities
- Carrying out such other duties as may reasonably be required

To be considered for this role:

- Purchasing and MRP system experience desirable
- High degree of flexibility and able to work on initiative.
- Competent in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build relationships with Stakeholders of all levels.
- Excellent work ethic and an ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Experience in Supplier Relationship Management
