Job Description: Our client is a leading healthcare provider looking for an IT 2nd Level Technician to help continue their commitment to providing the highest quality care.

Within this role you will be ensuring the delivery of high performing, reliable, responsive and resilient IT and Telephony services at all operational sites throughout the East Midlands.

To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

Technical experience equivalent to MCSE/MCSA in server support with evidence of continued professional development
Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an IT related subject or equivalent gained through specific relevant experience
Extensive experience of server hardware, operating systems and applications software
Significant experience of working in a user support environment
Experience of applying the principles of ITIL
Experience of working within an IT Service Desk environment providing 1st and 2nd line support
Experience of producing high quality systems documentation
Significant server and peripherals hardware knowledge
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office and Internet services
Significant server hardware and software knowledge
Knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems including Active Directory
Understanding of inter-relationships between aspects of IT and Telephony infrastructure and service support requirements
The successful candidate will be able to work proactively under own initiative, take responsibility and demonstrate leadership. You will also hold a Full UK Driving License.

Within this position, you’ll also be:

Providing assistance and acting as the escalation point for the Service Desk
Primarily working in 2nd line support capacities and working closely with 3rd party partners to resolve incidents and problems
Providing high quality customer service using wherever possible non-technical language to reduce misunderstanding
Carrying out regular operational checks and activity to proactively reduce the risk of incidents impacting the operation of the IT & Telecoms services
Maintaining an accurate and timely record of all reported incidents, workarounds and resolutions within the Service Desk toolset
Maintaining high levels of confidentiality, integrity and availability
Contributing to the development of adequate arrangements for the operation of IT & Telecoms services
Reviewing documentation, preparing documentation and contributing to the development of technical solutions
Contributing to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing
Salary & Working Hours

Salary is £ 25,000 - £27,000

You will be working as part of a shift rota providing on-site cover Monday to Sunday between 07:00 and 19:00 including bank holidays, or as agreed from time to time.

Working hours are Monday – Friday
